Shoot 2: Symbolic

For my next shoot I am looking at the symbolic element of the femme fatale and her objectification via fetishised styling. This shoot will take direct influence from David Lynch. Lighting will be key for this shoot. Borrowed from classic film noir I will use high contrast lighting to accentuate key elements. Lighting is a key characteristic in Lynch films something which I believe has been influenced by early noir. I want this shoot to have a more contemporary feel than the last. I found a great example in Italian Vogue (above) of the direction I want the shoot to take. My ideas have taken a more solid form via my work on scopophilia and the gaze. The styling will be influenced by the character of Alice from Lynch's Lost Highway (above) as I feel she really embodies the feel of the neo-femme fatale. Her peroxide blonde hair feels classic yet modern and her clothing is timeless and glamorous with an edgy feel.
